Gamified Smart 3D Product Configurator

For SCHOTT we created a 3D-configurator with gamified elements to visualize the multitude of possible food display configurations. The goal was to provide innovative and standardized tools and contents based on 3D, augmented reality and virtual reality technologies for B2B use. By means of the 3D configurator, for example, supermarkets were able to better plan the display of the required cooling elements.

SCHOTT manufactures special glass, glass ceramics and other innovative materials. SCHOTT is a competent partner for high-tech industries worldwide: Healthcare, Home Appliances and Living, Consumer Electronics, Semiconductors and Data Communications, Optics, Industry and Energy, Automotive, Astronomy, and Aerospace. SCHOTT employs 17,200 people and achieved sales of 2.8 billion euros in 2022.

By means of the 3D Configurator, which was realized in Unity, a total of 100,000 different configurations could be visualized. This included the width, height, depth, the number of different shelves, the various handle variants, etc.

Before using the 3D configurator, these different variants were displayed in Excel. With the online representation, it was not only possible to visualize the countless options, but also saved measurements and time-consuming representations at the point of sale.
