Immersive AR/VR Gamified Learning Environments for the Machinery and Plant Engineering Sector
April 2018 – March 2021
The Immerse2Learn project transforms and advances digital technologies in the context of the media and creative sector in an application-oriented manner. The focus of this project originating from the creative media is on the machinery and plant engineering sector. It is carried out within the “Leitmarktwettbewerb” of the North Rhine-Westphalia region.
Immerse2Learn brings methods of the creative sector and of the gaming industry to the machinery and plant engineering domain. The goal is to provide innovative and standardized tools and content, based on augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies, for the advanced training of service technicians. Utilizing gaming technologies, gamification and interaction design all together coupled with the integration of e-learning systems opens up new sales markets for the gaming industry. This approach will lead to a more accessible creation of learning content, resulting in the creation of new value-added chains to commercialize the results.
